CS60 USB & Windows 7  (Germany)

We have one user who used his CS60 with XP without problems. A couple of weeks ago he switched to Windows 7 and for some reason the buttons on the headset don't work. He has to answer his calls by clicking in the Swyx It software. This works for now but is kind of annoying. We tried everything from drivers to a different headset but nothing worked. We tried a second headset which works fine under XP too. On a different W7 system and it produces the same problems.

I read this thread http://www.swyx-forum.de/community/Default.aspx?tabid=54&forumid=9&threadid=7783&scope=posts but there is no solution mentioned. I can't access that Partner Newsletter.

Re: CS60 USB & Windows 7  (Germany)

There is a patch published by Plantronics. You should find it somewhere here in the forums... I tried finding it for you but I think I'm not smart enough to use the search :-S

Re: CS60 USB & Windows 7  (Germany)

This patch was published in the Swyx Partner Net. This is what the Knowledge Base says about it:

The electronic hook-on/off switch of the headsets H360 or H390 is not working with SwyxIt! v7.00 (kb4087)

The information in this article applies to:

  • SwyxIt! v7.00

Symptoms

SwyxIt! v7.00 runs on Windows Vista or Windows 7. The telephone conversation should be done via a headset H360 (Plantronics CS60-USB) or H390 (Plantronics Voyager 510 USB). The electronic hook-on/off switch of the headset doesn't work!

Resolution

Close SwyxIt! and run the the "Plantronics Device.msi" which can be downloaded by the following link. The installation of this package requires administrative rights at the system. After executing this package restart SwyxIt! and the electronic hook-on/off switch of the headset should work.

Status

Resolved.

Re: CS60 USB & Windows 7  (Germany)

I was too quick with my previous answer. The button on the headset works partially. The user pushes the button and gets a dial tone. After hearing this I posted my previous message.

On an incoming call the when he tries to answer the call by pushing the button the call gets rejected and the caller recieves the busy signal. Is there a way to configure the behavior of this button?

Re: CS60 USB & Windows 7  (Germany)

The user installed a Windows 7 64 bit driver package from the Plantronics Website. I uninstalled this package before installing the drivers mentioned above.

SwyxIt was closed during installation.

Re: CS60 USB & Windows 7  (Germany)

After reinstalling Swyxit and Plantronics patch it is now working as it should.
