| SwyxWare: Conference rooms (Germany) |
|
|
In the current versions of SwyxWare there's a conference room available with very limited options. Ok, there's a script for implementing a PIN code access. But that's not enough. We need features like in a real conference room provided by well known systems. If a user calls in he needs to provide a PIN and record a user name which will be played before he joins the conference - this brings some kind of monitoring. Currently, nobody knows who is in the conference. And in SwyxAdmin, you can't match callers if there's for example a separate second 3-party-conference.

Hi,
sounds interesting so far. Is it done with a self-writting vba-code script or via gse? I have is working but it is not playing an announcement of the "entering person" in conference room to the partipiciants who are already in the conference room. |

Please contact me directly via mail. Put the features needed in the mail an we will see what we can do there. We have some kind of anouncement on entering the conference room. The better way is to look in the web front end, who is online and who not. Each user enters the conference room with a pin he gets via mail. So every caller is 100% identifiable. |

Has anyone else been able to achieve the announcement of the caller on entering and leaving the room by just using ECR?
If not, does anyone know the answers to the followin?
- How do you play a recorded sound file once the user has joined the room?
- Is it possible to play a sound when someone leaves the room? Normally once a call has been disconnected, you can't do anymore routing/processing based on that call. I am assuming 3iMedia's solution uses an independant app that queries a text file/database for the callers and then takes action when the list of callers changes according to what it has. Is this right?

Take the IpPbx File Explorer for the SwyxWare CD/DVD (Tools folder) and look for the two files:
- ConferenceJoin.wav
- ConferenceLeave.wav
These files will be played into a conference room when either a new participants enters or one just has left.
If you want to replace them, just record two new wav file with the same name and upload them using the IpPbx File Explorer into the User scope of the Conference user or into the Global scrop.
Regarding your second question: to whom do you want to play that message ?

Thats great ill take a look at those files..
In an ideal world I'd like the joining user to be given the opertunity to record his or her name which would be used as they entered / exited the conference. |
