Swyx not writing to database  (United Kingdom)

Good Morning all,

We are running Swyx Server 6.02.0120 (en-GB) and for all purposes has been working well for years ever since we installed it. We developed a php frontend to the Call Detail Records database, which simply pulls data from the mysql database that is fed through ODBC as per the server config. The problem we have discovered is that the call records will stop writing into the database randomly, and the only way to kick start it into action again is to restart the server. The process will repeat itself at another random interval, sometimes even days apart. I have searched the forums a few times and looked at the Swyx knowledge base and cant find any mention of this happening to anyone else (just to note we have several clients with different minor versions of v6 and they all have the same problem). I also took a look at the Release Notes for all minor (free) updates but couldnt find mention of the problem or a fix for it.

Does this issue ring a bell to anyone?

Best Regards,

Rob Collier

Re: Swyx not writing to database  (Germany)

Are there any error messages in the Windows Event Log at that time ?

No, I'm afraid not.

It would be a case of checking the webpage (front end to the call log database) and noticing that it would have missed half a day of calls, for example. After rebooting the server, it would run normally again when checked ... from one day to the next the same thing would occur again.

I have found if network connection is broken it will stop logging the calls. You can restart the logging without restarting the server by running the database connection test under the CDR tab in server properties.

For this reason i always  try to log the CDR's locally if possible.

Re: Swyx not writing to database  (United Kingdom)

I was hoping this was going to be the answer :)

But (unfortunatly) the mysql database specified in the odbc connector IS on localhost :-(
