Phone controller will not respond.  (United Kingdom)
Modified By nronchetti on 9/1/2010 1:19:59 PM)

Hi All,

I have just installed a new Version 7 Swyx server and manually recreated all of the users as it seems we had a problem with database corruption on the old server. On testing the new server I can connect SwyxIt clients and SIP clients and all seems to work fine but is I try to connect the Swyx phones they come back with either “Phone controller does not respond” or “gateway not found”.

There is no firewall, the server is a 2003 R2. I have restarted the server and checked that the phone controller service is running. I can remote on to the phones through the web interface from the server so IP connectivity is OK.

This one really has me stumped the logs look like the service is running fine.

Running an nmap scan on the server to tcp ports shows the following open.

PORT     STATE SERVICE
80/tcp   open  http
135/tcp  open  msrpc
139/tcp  open  netbios-ssn
445/tcp  open  microsoft-ds
1720/tcp open  H.323/Q.931
2301/tcp open  compaqdiag
3389/tcp open  ms-term-serv
5060/tcp open  sip

Any Idea’s?

Many thanks

Nathan

This server is set to be a master in a master/standby pair. the phone controller would not allow any log on's untill I have gone through and configured the standby.
