Help wanted !  (Germany)
Modified By Tom Wellige on 8/17/2007 11:01:41 AM)

Do you like the idea of supporting online communites ?
Would you like to participate a little bit more then the common user ?

I am looking for:

  • Moderators
A moderator helps on keeping a forum on track. He "owns" any number of forums and is allowed to modify, move or even remove postings. He is not the guy being in charge to answer every question in a forum, he just keeps an eye on everything. If we have to change the current none-moderated forum mode into a moderated mode (which I sincererly do not hope) a moderator would get a little bit more to do. Each posting would have to be approved by a moderator before appearing online. If a moderator trusts a user he would be able to configure a trust for this user so that the postings of this user would be moderated automatically.

  • Bloggers
A blog is kind of a online diary. People write about everything and nothing in blogs. Here at swyx-forum blogs should give visitors and users a little bit more insider infos which can't be found on an official company website. I have learned from the many Swyx Partner days, Community days and CeBITs I was involved over the last years that people die for that kind of information. Don't get me wrong: I am not only looking for Swyx staff to write blogs. In my opinion everyone being connected to SwyxWare has something interesting to tell.

  • Projects
With the projects at swyx-forum I want to gather lots of programers, designers a.s.o. to develop cool new things for SwyxWare on an open source basis. swyx-forum will provide each project with a number of online resources: blogs, forums, downloads, online bug tracking system and a source code repository to enable shared development. The community provides their testing abilities, constructive criticism and many many ideas (good or bad). So, the final result would be something great, everybody would benefit from !

  • Screencasts / Videos
One of the many many intentions of swyx-forum is to provide help as easy as possible. Images tell more than a thousend words. So there is a  media area "Screencasts / Videos" providing small videos, so called screencasts, demoing how to do certain things. For example how to configure a SIP trunk properly, or how to setup your line keys in the client properly (note: these are just examples, those screencasts do not excist, at least currently not!). To get a solid list of a number of such "how to" videos I am looking for volunteers providing such videos. There are easy tools available on the internet to produce such a video and there will be a special Screencast forum available here where you can ask all your questions. Finally swyx-forum will provide the webspace and bandwidth to host those videos on this site.

I you feel you want to participate in this, feel free to get in touch with me. Either here in the forum or via Feedback.

In case you are interested in the Projects: there are some additional infos on the Get Involved ! page.

cu, Tom
