Happy Birthday Swyx Forum !  (Germany)

Last week Swyx Forum silently celebrated it's second birthday. Even I wasn't invited to the party on the server ;-)

Two years ago, at 21st of may 2007, and after a month of "beta-testing", Swyx Forum opened it's doors to the wide public.

Within the last two years lots of things happened:

  • Over 1500 users are more or less active on the page.
  • Over 6000 posts were posted in over 1500 different thread of the forum.
  • 50 million page hits in 2008.
  • New open source projects were added.
  • Lots of downloads (tools, skins, etc.) were provided by users.
  • The Swyx Demo Server was launched a year ago.
  • The Wiki was filled with a number of articles as a good reference beside the Swyx manuals.
  • Regular blog postings by a couple of users.
  • Early this year the "Friday's Swyx Tip" was launched.
  • The "Swyx Tech Talk" was introduced (and because of no interest buried again).

I want to thank all active participants of Swyx Forum, my co-admin Morten Rokosz, all sponsors and YOU as you read this posting and have obviously decided to visit Swyx Forum today !

I enjoyed driving this community page very much and hope the site will stay alive for a long long time from now.

I also learned quite a lot on how to drive a stable DotNetNuke site (you might remember some "down-times" of the page in the beginning).

Feel free to raise your voice, state your opinion, give comments, ask questions (there are no stupid questions), give answers, share your knowledge, ...

Yours sincerely,
Tom Wellige.
