The new forum version comes with a huge set of new images. The following explain the most important ones:

 
Toolbar

Your inbox of private forum messages. No new messages.

Your inbox of private forum messages. New messages.

Your personal forum settings, including signature, avatar and notifications.

Lists your own postings at Swyx Forum.

Search within the forum.

Go back to the complete forum list.

Go to the aggregated forum, containg posts in special orderings, like the most recent posts.

Moderate posts. This button is visible for moderators only. As the forum on Swyx Forum is currently completely unmoderated this button is useless.

 

Thread Status

Standard thread (contains no unread posts, contains unread posts).

Hot thread, has been read many times (contains no unread posts, contains unread posts).

Pinned thread, will be displayed always on top of the thread list of a forum (contains no unread posts, contains unread posts).

Locked threas, no further postings possible to this thread (contains no unread posts, contains unread posts).

All combinations of the above icons are possible.

 

Thread Type

The standard thread (None Specified) does not have any special icon.

Unresolved. This thread contains an unresolved problem. Each posting contains a link "Accept Answer" to change the type from "Unresolved" to "Resolved".

Resolved. The problem that was discussed in this thread has been resolved.

Informative. This thead contains common informations.

Poll. This thread contains a poll. When adding such a new thread you have to define a question an a set of answers. These will be afterwards displayed at the top of the thread along with the poll results.

 

Forum Types

Unmoderated forum (contains no unread posts, contains unread posts).

Moderated forum (contains no unread posts, contains unread posts). All postings in this forum need an approval by one of the forum moderators. Currentyl there are no moderated forums at Swyx Forum.

Private Forum (contains no unread posts, contains unread posts). This forum is visible for certain users of Swyx Forum only. Most likely these are forums for internal discussions of the moderators, bloggers or project team members.

Aggregated forum. This forum contains aggregated lists of postings, like the most recent postings at Swyx Forum.

Link forum. This is a link to another page (e.g. another external forum) and no real forum on Swyx Forum.

Posting has been reported to contain abusing content.

Old posting.

Online status of poster, logged off.

Online status of poster, logged in.

 

User Ranking

to in steps of

Forum Policy

The discussion forums at Swyx Forum are dedicated to the discussion of Swyx, SwyxWare and related topics.

For the benefit of the community and to protect the integrity of swyx-form, please observe the following posting guidelines:

  1. No Advertising. This includes promotion of commercial products and non-commercial products which are not directly related to SwyxWare, it's OEM versions or a forum topic.
  2. No Flaming or Trolling.
  3. No Profanity, Racism, or Prejudice.
  4. Furthermore, make sure your posts comply to our Terms of Use.
  5. Newest development in German law defines online forums as journalistic content, making the forum owner and all posters to journalists. With this statement the forum owner declares that neither he nor his users are journalists with all legal consequences.
  6. The forums are currently unmoderated, meaning all postings will appear immediately after submission. If this turns out not working due to massive abuse all forums will switch to moderated mode, meaning a posting must be approved after submission my a moderator before appearing.
  7. You can use any language you like (except for the project forums) but keep in mind that by using english you will reach the largest audience.
  8. Within the project forums english language is mandatory.
