What exactly is "no sound" in your case? From your report we could guess that you observe problems with calls via links?

Best regards

SwyxIt!? SwyxPhone? DECT? Internal calls, external calls, ...? ISDN gateway? SIP Link?

Re: No sound  (Denmark)

Everything... Internal / external SwyxPhone, SIP devices, swyxit!
No sound on anything... Just while speaking, phone does ring, que works etc.... Just no sound when trying to communicate.

However, through the day and the trouble shooting (been at a customer most of the day, so not much, I've just been passed a little information, it might be due a firewall)

Re: No sound  (Germany)

Maybe you have got a vacuum in your office, this would explain "no sound on anything" ;-)

Come on, please provide some information about the installation (LAN, NAT, VPN, where is the server, ...). I cannot believe that out of a sudden there is no mediastreaming at all. Or did it never work?

When you have two user accounts with SwyxIt! or SwyxIt! / SwyxPhone and place a call between those two devices, the media streaming is routed directly between the devices (not trough the server).

Re: No sound  (Denmark)

Hi.

I have also experienced this issue on v6.11 (new installed, not in production yet).

It seems to affect all sounds. Even announcements or ring-tones played directly to external phones dialing into the system is affected.
As this is a pre-production installation, the PBX has been more or less idle most of the time, and I have only got round to it occasionally, when suddenly experiencing the issue.
First time the PBX had been idle for a couple of days, when I one morning tested call into the PBX, and didn't got any sound. Just restarted whole server, and issue was gone.
Later I experienced it occassional from time to time, but always when not beeing on the system for some days.

However, after returning last week from my summer-vacation (3 weeks), I did more or less expected the system to be "muted" again, but it wasn't....(!?)
Then again, this monday it once again was muted....

Setup:
Ver.6.11, ISDN BRI and ISDN PRI-adapters (currently only connected to BRI), located on own VLAN and subnet (Gigabit-network)

I have now (yesterday) updated to v.6.12 to see if the issue will disapper...

Regards, MikaelK

Re: No sound  (Germany)

Hi,

SwyxWare does offically not support VLAN scenarios, we don't do any tests related to VLAN configuration. Especially when working with SwyxIt!, it would not be useful at all to have voice running in a separate VLAN - the PC would have to be in two VLANs for voice and Windows Networking.

Re: No sound  (Denmark)

Hi,

I am convinced that VLAN'ing is not an issue here.
VLAN'ing is merely a way to seperate different subnets on the same switch(es).

For our physical phones, they are connected to the same VLAN (ip-subnet) as the PBX, and SwyxIt!-clients on Pc's reach the PBX by routing.

To emphasise that VLAN'ing is not the issue, please make a note on the fact that incoming external callers does not even hear the sound from initial announcements (directly from the SwyxWare) before any routing to end-user.
Also, it is only periodically the sound-issue appears.. If VLAN was the issue, it should be present all the time (I presume)..

Regards,
MikaelK

Re: No sound  (Germany)

Ok. But then this case is too complicated for the forum. When the problem shows up again, handle this as a support case. We would need tracing from all related modules including wireshark trace from all machines.

Best regards
Wolfgang Bruessler
