| PLANTRONICS CS60 ISSUE (United Kingdom) |

i have a plantronics cs60 headset attached to a swyx p250 phone running swyxit v6.02.1070 on vista business
as i am away from my desk often, i would like to be able to hear the ringer thru the headset
have spent 2 hours today trying to do this , with no luck at all
any help will be greatly received

How did you connect the CS60 to the P250? Ok, you are not using the "CS60 USB". I just found it on the plantronics homepage. I was not aware of that device. SwyxIt! is not aware neither, that there is a wireless device connected to the P250. Neither SwyxIt! nor the P250 can trigger the wireless headset for ringing or enabling the audio connection. This will not work. The only way for you should be using the CS60 USB instead of the P250. In this case SwyxIt! it can switch on the wireless device audio and play the ringing sound through the headset.

sorry to have not put all information in original post.
i have a cs60usb connected to pc. i then have the handset lifter connected to p250 phone.
as specified i have connected the small microphone to the speaker on the p250.
when i have an incoming call i do not hear the ringer through the headset
hope this explains things more clearly |

Ok.
SwyxIt! does not support two hook devices. It is not supported to connect the P250 and the CS60 USB at the same time. Unplug the P250 and configure the CS60 as both voice and ringing device. By the way: "small microphone cable", what is this for? Never heard about.

firstly, many thanks for you input on this problem
the cs60usb was purchased together with the hl10 handset lifter
part of the package is a small microphone to be placed ontop of the desk phones own speaker.
i am pressuming that when an incoming call is received, this small small microphone sends the ringing signal to headset

Sorry, but this scenario is not supported by SwyxIt!. I don't know about that "ringing" microphone, never seen it. In order to let the CS60 ring, you need either to enable the audio part via software and play a ringing sound (this is done by SwyxIt! when you use the CS60 instead of the P250 and configure it as ringing device) or you need a software that does trigger the CS60 build in ringing mechanism (not supported by SwyxIt!).

just wanted to confirm something before i start changing things here
if i understand correctly, i need to remove p250 handset from the system entirely.
connect cs60 directly to pc.
finally, use sound wizard to configure all settings
does this sound correct?
i will await reply!!!

Yes this is correct.
You could use only one Sound-Device.
Use the Sound Wizzard an configure all Settings, at CS60 or P250. |

well , looks like i been wasting my own time and also the people who have kindly input to this thread.
after getting nowhere this morning, i have been back in contact with Plantronics , who now tell me that the CS60 is not compatible with the Swyxit v6 i am running
so it now looks as if i will have to purchase another headset !! !! !!

I don't know which headset you have bought. But "Plantronics CS60-USB Headset" = Swyx Headset H360. But you cannot use it along with the P250 and the handset lifter. At least this is not supported and has never ever been tested.

The CS60 headset with the lifter will fit on L4xx and L5xx models. And not on the USB phone or directly in to the computer.
