Moving SwyxWare Installation  (Switzerland)

Hi there!

I had a Swyx 6.11 project some weeks ago.. I wanted to install SwyxWare on an existing server.. unfortunately I couldn't  install my PCI-X riser card into it, because there
was already a PCI-e riser card.. So I installed Swyx on a different (very old) server..

Now we have to move the installation to another server, for which we already ordered a PCI-X riser card..

I'm not quite sure about the procedure I need, to move the whole installation.

I make a daily backup of the Swyx Database (SQL Express), and I copied the All Users\Swyx-folder away..

Can I just install Swyx on the second server, and click "Import existing database"?

I searched the Swyx-KB and found kb2524, but this relies to Swyx 4.xx...!?

If yes.. I can just install SwyxWare to the same directory, and then replicate with the "old" server with this IpPbxRepl.wsf?

What's the way to go? :-) Ah, and the customer is very far away from me.. so I have only one chance.. :-)

Thanks in advance..

spyker

With 6.11, basically yes. Be aware that you need to reregister your licenses. The easiest way is to get the license.dat file from the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Swyx folder of the server. Then after installing SwyxWare, but before restarting and running the Configuration Wizard, you copy this file to the same location on the new server.

In SwyxWare administration you will get the message that the license will expire in 30 days because of 'Changed hardware'. You will need a form from your reseller to fax to Swyx so they will give you a new permanent license when you send the request.

Re: Moving SwyxWare Installation  (Switzerland)

Ok thanks.. This sounds "easy"..

I'll check this part with the fax form out with Swyx Switzerland when I'm "on-site"..

Thanks!
