Problems with outbound faxes  (United Kingdom)

Hi,

Just upgraded to SwyxFax 6.02 MP2 and having problems with outbound faxes only.

When sending a fax from the client it appears on the documents list on the server and will retry sending up to 3 times, changing between ready and waiting status. The fax fails several minutes later with "Send error - Normal call clearing". The channel appears to remain idle throughout this time - "Waiting for inbound and outbound faxes".

Inbound faxes are fine, all the fax numbers answer and the channel status changes to indicate it is receiving a fax transmission.

I would appreciate it if someone could give me an idea where to look next?

Many thanks,

Richard

Re: Problems with outbound faxes  (Germany)

Hi Richard!

Are you able to send an internal fax from SwyxFax A to SwyxFax B? If it only appears on external fax calls have a look in the traces, the active calls list or the routing records table. Then check wich trunk is selected for the outgoing fax and check that T38 is enabled on it.

Bye,

Jens

Re: Problems with outbound faxes  (United Kingdom)

Hi Jens,

Thanks for your quick reply!

It's working now! I found that our standby Swyx server was also logging in as an H.323 device, and in the trace logs it was indicating it couldn't get an H.323 device.

Once I stopped SwyxFax on the standby server it worked fine.

Thanks again,

Richard
