How to record screencasts using Windows Media Encoder?

1. Start Windows Media Encoder


2. Click on "New Session in the toolbar or select New Session from the File menu.


3. Select Capture Screen


4. The Wizard is self-explanatory, just follow it and select the options you like

Hints:

• Use High Quality, the lower settings make it very difficult for the viewer to see any details, e.g. text.


• When capturing audio use a good microphone or a headset. Built-in microphones like the ones in newer notebooks usually do not produce sufficient quality.
