Once on the shores of a river in Africa, an american business developer on vacation watched a local fisherman as he sat in the sunset relaxing after a day of fishing. The American asked him about his life, and the fisherman answered that life was good. 'Every morning I get out in my boat, I fish a little, put aside the fish we need for food. Then I go to the market and sell the rest. In the evening I play with my children and sit on the river bank watching the sunset'
It sounded like a good life indeed. The American then told him: 'You know what! Where I come from I help people become more successful with what they do. If you used some money, you could buy a bigger boat, catch more fish and make more money on the market. Then with this money you could buy even more boats, hire some people and make even better money. In the end you could have a whole company selling fish around the whole country.'
The fisherman looked at the American and asked how long this would take him. 'Well, if you work hard, 10-12 hours a day, it could take 10-15 years.'
'And then what?', asked the fisherman.
'Then', said the American, 'you could sell your business and you would have time to fish a little, play with your children and sit on the river bank watching the sunset.'
