Dear Swyx Users

Many business professionals today received their e-mail also on their smart phones and consequently this includes Swyx Voicemail messages.

By default Swyx send these Voicemails as Wave files. Some mobile phones can’t play wave files, but almost any mobile can handle MP3

Therefore I have put together a small How To ad MP3 codec to a Swyx Server guide:

Steps to add MP3 Codec to SwyxServer.

1. Download the lame3.zip from here
   
2. Un-ZIP the files and save folder lame3.98-final and RecordingCodecs.xml to C:\Program Files\SwyxWare\ 
   
3. Open the SwyxWare File Explorer and upload the two files LAME.EXE and LAME_ENC.DLL in Global-Scope under MISC / OTHERS
   LAME.EXE and LAME_ENC.DLL  are located in the folder lame3.98-final
   
4. Then restart the Swyx Server
   
5. If you go to the Server Properties/Voicemail you should be able to select the new added MP3 codec.
