I know, we Germans are known as having the worst bureaucracy in the world. And I tell you what: it's true !

I know, we Germans are known as having the worst bureaucracy in the world. And I tell you what: it's true !

I just read a very irritating story in the "tagesschau blog", a blog of the editors of the most important TV news show in Germany.

The German soldiers in Afghanistan ordered sirens for their camps in order to warn every soldier if there is some kind of danger. Back in the 70s there where such sirens on every public building in Germany to warn the people of some catastrophes (war, earth quake or what ever). So sirens are in my opinion quite a good thing to warn a lot of people simultaneously.

What do you think what happened with the siren order in the army offices in Germany ?

They rejected the order ! Shame on you

The reason: NOISE POLLUTION. Silly

Re: German Bureaucracy

That fits. Some time ago I read about another issue. They had to stop using some of their army trucks in Afghanistan because they couldn't renew their TÜV certification. (Non-German readers: Every car and truck needs to be checked regularly, check Vehicle_inspection in wikipedia). They couldn't get the card checked in Afghanistan, obviously, and had to stop using them.
