Microsoft has announced that from November, 1st 2008 it will no longer be possible to license Windows 3.11 for Workgroups.

After given birth to it in 1993 Microsoft now finally closes one book of history. While the desktop market went on with Win9x, 2000, XP and Vista, the Windows 3.11 for Workgroups version was still used in the embedded market.

So, let us say good bye to that ol' chap, keep him in good remembrance and may he rest in peace.
