Apple is currently "featuring" their Safari for Windows web browser by providing it via iTunes update mechanism. Martin has already written about it in his blog Trust!?.
Is it really about trust or is it about the "sheep behaviour" or "short attention span syndrom" ?

I have just read an interesting article on this topic on CNet, written by Tom Krazit:

Main conclusion of this article is: it's totally up to you what you install on your PC, or not. Do not install everything just because it's provided by trustful sources.

Yes, it's nothing new. But as the article mentioned, other companies like Yahoo learned it the hard way. And Apple will probably learn it now.

It's about sneaking software on my PC which I do not want. The way they're doing it undermines the trust a customer needs to run automatic software update mechanisms.

You have to be is and if they need it for iTunes to run. These people cannot make an informed decision if they should uncheck that option or not.
